In the next 30 years every facet of how we live, work and survive as a species will be unrecognizable from today.

We are now in one of the most rapidly transformational periods in the history of our planet and our human species—for our ecological and environmental systems, and for our human systems, too.

We’re seeing the effects of pandemics, war, inequality, and climate change unfold in real time.

We’re going to be tasked with creating new systems for food, water, energy, education, health, economics, global governance and how we work and survive—in other words pretty much everything!

We’ll also be adding 2.3 billion people to the planet —with potentially 4.5 billion people becoming vulnerable to rapidly changing political, environmental and economic conditions. Yep, I said 4.5 billion people.

Some days I can feel a bit doom and gloom about where we’re headed. That’s ok, that’s normal. But I’m not a pessimist by nature and I’m also not a hopeful optimist.

I’m a pragmatist, I’m a doer.

Like everyone reading this, I’m driven to make a difference and there’s no way I’m rolling over and going back to sleep when there’s work to be done.

Because I believe with this incredible challenge comes an incredible opportunity. An opportunity for everyone to step up in a collective way that’s bigger and more powerful than ever before.

This is an opportunity for us to learn to thrive as a species.

To learn to work together in creating the kind of world that we all want to live in, not just a select few… one that’s whole, healed, and healthy—an inclusive world that honors and celebrates our differences and recognizes those as our strengths.
